A gentleman deserves a gentle skincare regime too!
Inputs by Vidur Kapur, Director of O3+ Professional
For the longest time, men's grooming in India was pretty straightforward. A face wash, shaving cream, and maybe an aftershave were enough to get through the day. But things have changed. Today, more Indian men are paying attention to skincare, not because it's a trend, but because they understand that healthy skin is an important part of self-care.
This shift has been shaped by several factors. Easy access to skincare information, social media, digital creators, and changing workplace cultures have encouraged men to learn more about their skin and what it actually needs. Instead of seeing skincare as something optional, they are now looking for products that solve everyday concerns like tanning, excess oil, acne, dehydration, pigmentation, pollution damage, and early signs of aging.
India's climate makes skincare even more important. Constant exposure to harsh sunlight, rising pollution, humidity, and dust can take a visible toll on the skin. Spending hours outdoors or commuting every day often leads to dullness, uneven skin tone, tanning, and clogged pores. This is why more men are investing in simple, effective skincare routines that help protect and maintain healthy skin.
Another noticeable change is the growing focus on preventive skincare. More men are realising that consistently caring for their skin is far easier than trying to reverse years of damage. Simple habits like cleansing, moisturising, and applying sunscreen every day are becoming part of daily routines, especially among younger consumers who are starting their skincare journey much earlier than previous generations.
The men's skincare category has come a long way. Consumers are no longer convinced by products that simply carry a "for men" label. They want formulations designed to target specific skin concerns and containing ingredients that actually deliver results. Products like sunscreens, moisturisers, serums, exfoliators, anti-acne treatments, and brightening solutions are gradually becoming everyday essentials instead of occasional purchases.
Looking ahead, the men's skincare market in India is expected to grow steadily as awareness continues to increase and consumers become more informed about ingredients and skincare routines. Today's buyers are looking for products that offer visible results without making skincare feel complicated. They want solutions that combine science, convenience, and performance, and brands that can deliver all three are likely to shape the future of men's skincare in the country.
