The wedding planners – Eternity by Trinity – behind Saaniya Chandhok and Arjun Tendulkar’s wedding give a lowdown on what went into planning the intimate & culturally rich ceremonies.
On a warm March morning in Mumbai, friends and family gathered at The St Regis Mumbai, where childhood friends and long-time partners Indian Cricketer and Son of Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar and entrepreneur Saaniya Chandhok, tied the knot, bringing together family, friends, and some of the biggest names from cricket, business, and entertainment.
Planned by Eternity by Trinity, the wedding honoured the couple’s Maharashtrian and Punjabi roots while keeping the focus firmly on the rituals and the families at their centre. “From the very first meeting with the families, the brief was clear: they wanted a celebration that reflected who they are and where they come from," shared the wedding planners.
The wedding festivities began with an intimate mehndi ceremony that drew inspiration from Saaniya’s Punjabi roots. “The sundowner celebration set the tone with vibrant colours and playful energy, almost like a lively Punjabi courtyard gathering," they added. What made the celebrations especially meaningful were the little details both families wanted to hold on to. Saaniya’s family was keen to incorporate elements close to their roots in Amritsar, with several specialities sourced directly from the city so guests could experience a taste of its culture as part of the celebration in Amritsar.
“We also created a lively bazaar-style setup where guests could walk through different stalls and build their own tote bags by picking up little elements along the way." The personalised tote bags were curated at beautifully designed stalls featuring bangles, bindis, artisanal bath salts, lip balms, authentic mukhwas and aam papad sourced from Amritsar, turning gifting into an interactive cultural moment. Anchoring the celebration was a lush floral swing installation that became a focal point.
It also reflected an emerging trend in weddings this season, where hosts are increasingly looking to create experiences that make guests feel like active participants rather than simply attendees. This philosophy shaped many of the choices made by Team Eternity by Trinity throughout the celebrations.

The wedding ceremony leaned towards the Maharashtrian traditions of the Tendulkar family. One of the highlights was the thoughtfully designed 270-degree mandap layout, which allowed guests a comfortable and intimate view of the rituals as they unfolded.
The design language of the wedding was intentionally soft yet commanding, with off-whites, blush pinks, fresh greens, and muted gold accents creating a dreamlike atmosphere. One tradition that remained completely non-negotiable for the groom’s family was the Maharashtrian Pangat—a traditional sit-down wedding meal where guests dine together in rows. “It’s a deeply community-driven custom and an integral part of Maharashtrian weddings," share the planners. Recreating the experience at this scale required thoughtful planning, but it became one of the most memorable and rewarding moments of the celebration.
The wedding drew a high-profile guest list, including personalities from Indian cricket, Bollywood and the business world. But for the planners, managing a celebrity wedding was beyond a glamorous affair. “A great deal of planning goes into protecting the privacy of the families and their guests, and keeping details under wraps until they are ready to share them. For this celebration, we introduced personalised QR codes for entry so that access could be managed smoothly. It helped us keep the entire process organised,” they explain.

Reflecting on what couples planning a multi-day celebration should prioritise, the team emphasises the importance of thinking about the guest journey rather than just individual functions. A wedding, they say, is not only about the big moments but also about everything in between—how guests arrive, how they move through the venue, and how seamless each transition feels. “Small details such as welcome hampers, thoughtful food service and comfortable seating can significantly shape the experience. Food, in particular, is something guests remember long after the celebration ends," they add. They also suggest having a connecting thread across the different events, whether it is a family tradition, cultural element or shared story. Most importantly, they add, couples should focus on creating a celebration that genuinely reflects who they are.
