What is your wellness philosophy?
My wellness mantra is believing that everything happens for the right reasons. What keeps me centred is spending time with myself and my family. Also, going for long walks with my dog. I haven’t yet found a form of physical exercise that makes me happy, but I like to dance, so I will often have loud music playing in my studio and dance my feelings out. This year I also started journaling, but it’s not a daily journal or a gratitude journal, it’s more like my clarity journal. Every time I have a question, I stop thinking about it and write it down. Whether it’s work-related or personal life related, I’ve started writing my questions and random thoughts down and it brings me so much clarity. Even if I don’t get the answers I’m looking for, I get to understand the reason behind my questions and that's the answer sometimes.
Your success mantra?
I haven’t really thought about this, but I think my success mantra is to put all my heart in everything I do. If something doesn’t feel right in my heart, I don’t do it. If something feels right, I put all my heart and soul into it. I think that reflects a lot in my work too, it’s all just authentically “me”.
A lesson you learned from making a mistake?
It’s actually a little funny, but I think the biggest lesson I’ve learned recently is that I tend to over-share and I’m trying to be mindful about how much I share and when to stop.
Any piece of advice for all the women out there?
One piece of advice I would really like to give would be to stop being so hard on yourself. We often want to make sure everything is okay at all times and the need to balance everything can take a toll on our own mental health so sometimes it’s important to sit back and understand that it’s okay if it’s not okay right now - It always gets better. I would also advise women to not take every judgment and opinion coming from others to their hearts. Believe in yourself and trust your instincts. Why you started in the first place should be the only thing that matters.
What has been your biggest pride as a doyenne?
I think my biggest pride is that I never gave up. I started creating content when I was 18, turning 25 this year and my life since has been in a way moulded around it. I had hit a point during covid when I thought of taking a break but I just couldn’t and I’m glad I didn’t. When I meet people who come and tell me they’ve been watching my content for years, it gives me so much happiness to know that I’ve built a small community of little girls who grew up and became strong women together.
