Knowing India’s Sacred Feminine Traditions for Wellbeing

This August, Vinita Rashinkar, author and spiritual mentor, wants you to tap into India’s sacred feminine traditions

In an age of burnout, emotional fatigue, and constant digital overstimulation, wellness is no longer confined to fitness routines, green juices, or luxury retreats. Increasingly, people are searching for a sense of inner clarity, emotional grounding, and spiritual connection.

And at the centre of this shift is Vinita Rashinkar. Author, spiritual mentor, and internationally recognised teacher, she has spent over twenty-five years studying and practising Sri Vidya, Tantra, Ayurveda, Yoga, meditation, mantra, and consciousness. Today, she is helping a new generation rediscover these teachings not as esoteric philosophy or ritualistic relics, but as practical pathways to modern well-being and inner transformation. Her work speaks to a growing audience — especially women across India and the diaspora — seeking more grounded and authentic forms of healing and self-understanding. “The modern wellness conversation often addresses the body and mind,” she says. “But India’s Sacred Feminine traditions remind us that true well-being also includes consciousness, intuition, emotional balance, devotion, and alignment with one’s deeper self.” The concept of the Sacred Feminine is not just a religious or cultural symbol but also a living intelligence connected to creativity, intuition, compassion, abundance, and transformation.

A bestselling author of eight books on Tantra, chakras, sacred geometry, and consciousness, Rashinkar has become known for making profound spiritual teachings approachable without diluting their authenticity. Through workshops, retreats, books, mentorship programmes, and spiritual guidance, she is also translating complex systems like Sri Vidya and Tantra into frameworks that support emotional resilience, conscious living, intuitive development, and personal transformation.

Her journey into wellness and healing also includes extensive work in Ayurveda and hospitality. She has played a significant role in building wellness-focused enterprises, including the Windflower Resorts and Spa group in South India. She has also consulted internationally on Ayurveda, wellness tourism, and integrative healing initiatives. Today, she serves as the Founding Director of the Sri Chakra Yantra Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to preserving and sharing authentic Indic spiritual knowledge for future generations. She is also the Founder and Managing Director of Amara Vedic Wellness GmbH, based in Düsseldorf, Germany, which focuses on integrating deeper dimensions of Vedic wisdom into contemporary wellness and personal development.

Her work arrives at a moment when many Indians — particularly younger urban audiences — are revisiting their spiritual roots. Yet Rashinkar believes this interest is not about returning to the past but about reclaiming wisdom that can support modern challenges.

“The need today is not escape from life,” she says. “It is learning how to live consciously within it.”

This August, Rashinkar will bring that message to audiences across India through the multi-city Sacred Feminine Tour organised by Shunya Wellness under the banner of Shakti Sangha — a growing movement focused on reviving and recontextualising India’s Sacred Feminine wisdom traditions for modern seekers. The tour will travel across Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, and Delhi, bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds for immersive gatherings exploring Sri Vidya, Tantra, Devi consciousness, meditation, and inner transformation. These gatherings are designed as reflective spaces where ancient wisdom can be experienced as a living force for contemporary well-being.
