The plush line-up of seven superb cabins in Project Karjat brings in quiet luxury, perched in the solitude of the green hills.
It’s a postcard cabin, poised prettily in prized seclusion in the middle of the forest.
Nestling in the Sahyadri hills near verdant Karjat, close to Mumbai, the Owner’s Cabin at Project Karjat is part of a cluster of seven stunning cabins, offering the feel of a sprawling micro retreat in the wilderness. Five acres of complete solitude, with a clever sense of distance and privacy cocooning each space. Sounds unreal?

Staying here feels like a delicious exhale: I wake up on the rustic four-poster bed to braids of sunshine bouncing off the full-length windows, walking out into the crisp mountain air early morning, with the lapping private plunge pool forming quiet ripples in sync with the fleeting birdsong: Precious tranquillity, that allows me to relish the sound of my own heartbeat, quietly.
NATURE-LED LIVING

Call it an organic rhythm in vernacular design. Natural, locally sourced stone shapes the skeletal structure of the expansive cabin, and raw wood tones set the warmth. Sunlight spills into the space, silently ushering in the break of the day at dawn. There is a slow, natural flow, as the light arrives at its own pace, letting me move more intentionally. The moon is equally nimble-footed, bringing with it a galaxy of shining stars into the velvety night skies.
Shades of mossy green and terracotta, wooden frames marking paintings that bring in the tigerish prowl and flora and fauna of the surrounding forest, and natural lime-washed surfaces add to the rooted, handcrafted complexion of the cabin. The low bed and sole bare wood bench create visual fluidity, accented by sparse linen soft furnishings in brick and beige. Jute nuances in the rug, and dry sprigs create clever tactile layering through honest materials that age gracefully.

Wooden rafters uphold the sloping roof and the silent, tech-powered controls for the curtains and lights ensure the depth and dimension of the space remain untouched even at different times of the day and night.
PART TWO
The lavish washroom creates an equally immersive spatial experience. In a refreshing architectural accent, the expansive bathroom is treated with utmost respect, earning equal, manicured inches as the main cabin itself.

The showstopper is the colossal marble bathtub that merits a champagne bubble bath. Soaking in the tub, I flick the controls to part the curtains, and staring at the star-lidded sky as the wispy linen parts in a reverent hush makes the entire experience simply unforgettable. The rainforest shower brings a soothing splatter of cool water against my skin as I move on the wooden slats.
The soothing hum continues with the gourmet gospels served up by Chef Sachin. Manning The Glasshouse at Project Karjat with his team, his superb renditions in every cuisine - freshly prepared, carefully plated, and delivered on the tree-trunk hewn table in my cabin - fill me with contentment. Non-obtrusive, yet present, the team is always on call, shaping a new bar in subtle seclusion.

Here is an intimate, luxurious micro retreat that crowns the golden quiet with finesse in décor, dining and a darling experience. Find your own special moment as you unravel in sheer, splendid languor. I still can’t decide which was my most special moment...
